Charlotte, You Really Showed Up: A Celebration of Gorgeous Gatherings + Our Time in the South

A Night in Charlotte: Celebrating Gorgeous Gatherings

We celebrated Alison’s latest book, Gorgeous Gatherings, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at an unforgettable evening hosted by our wildly talented friends Ashton and Paris of Ashton Paris Events.

It was one of those nights filled with everything we love most—community, creativity, and celebration—that reminds us why this industry is so special.

Every detail was truly magical, brought to life by an incredible team of collaborators:

Silk and Vine created dreamy floral installations throughout the space. Fordan added buttery leather bookmarks and paper details that we’re still obsessed with. Ro House provided the swoon-worthy setting that anchored the evening beautifully.

Clement kept the coffee flowing for the crowd, while Dart Collective brought the energy with a perfectly curated soundtrack. QC Catering served up delicious bites, and Old Fashioned Mobile Bar mixed a signature green tequila cocktail inspired by the book itself.

Carly + Hannah kept everyone feeling their absolute best, while Party Reflections linens had us collectively swooning. CS Special Events rounded out the design with gorgeous rentals that elevated every corner of the space.

The evening was beautifully documented by Kelsey Mard in still photography, while Our Westward Hearts captured the full story on film with grace and intention.

We’re endlessly grateful to be part of a creative community that shows up for one another and brings this kind of magic to life.

Thank you, Charlotte.

Postcard from the South: Our Stay at The Dunlin

Just 20 miles outside Charleston, we found ourselves somewhere completely different in pace and energy—slow, sunny, and deeply rooted in Southern charm.

The Dunlin, located along the Kiawah River on Johns Island, feels like an instant exhale. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to ditch your inbox, grab a sunhat, and fully lean into coastal living.

Our days were spent exactly that way: sipping low-country lemonade by the pool, biking beneath moss-draped oaks, and trying (unsuccessfully) to finish a book between long stretches of laughter and developing our best Southern accents. “Piper, NO!” may or may not have become the unofficial anthem of the trip.

Evenings brought tomato martinis worthy of blue ribbons and a cocktail guide named Daryl who made sure our glasses—and spirits—stayed full. Dinner at Linnette’s began with buttermilk fried oysters topped with Regiis Ova caviar and tartare sauce, setting the tone for everything that followed.

Design-wise, we were completely taken with interiors by Amanda Lindroth. The signature Dunlin green—earthy, elegant, and calming—has officially made its way onto our mood boards.

If you’re in Charleston and looking for a nearby escape that blends barefoot luxury with thoughtful hospitality, The Dunlin is it.

The South looks good on you.

Meet Aisha Whitney

We’re thrilled to welcome Aisha Whitney to the AE team.

Born in Marin and raised with a passport always within reach, Aisha brings a global perspective shaped by travel across more than 15 countries. She is fluent in Spanish and Thai, with a background that spans living in Mexico, studying in Hawaii, and gathering creative inspiration around the world.

As our Production Assistant, Aisha brings both technical skill and creative intuition to every event. From scuba diving in Fiji to sipping coconuts in Sayulita, her eye for beauty is shaped by a life lived on the move.

When she’s not helping bring events to life, she’s dancing, cooking, or chasing the sun—usually all at once.

We’re so excited to have her energy, perspective, and creative spirit on the team.

Welcome, Aisha!

As always, thank you for reading!

Peace, Love + Parties from the AE Team
